I cannot recommend Rebecca more highly. From start to finish she balanced a genuine desire to bring to life our goals for the project, with great communication, pragmatic project management, and delivery of craftsmanship and excellence in the finish. The advantage of having one person act as designer, trade and materials procurement, and project manager totally de-stressed the project for my wife and I. The quality of the work by her team is outstanding and matches perfectly the original design. The trades people were also polite, respectful and flexible. I always felt Rebecca took our budget seriously and acted with a diligence as if she were spending her own money, openly sharing necessary variations throughout on a “no surprises” basis. We ended up on budget with a beautiful new kitchen diner. We are now thinking about how her team can help us with our next project.

When we approached Rebecca about our kitchen project, we’d identified some key features we wanted to see in a new kitchen, dining, living space. We’d seen some concepts and design ideas that we really liked but had no idea how to bring them together into a coherent brief, let alone a finished design that we’d love living with!

Rebecca let us talk, while she listened. She introduced design ideas to us to help her understand what we like and didn’t like. She took the concepts that we’d found, married them with what she learned from our discovery meetings and some of the ques she got from our personal possessions. The design that she came up with showed that she’d listened to us, understood us, but also helped us develop our own ideas. Very little changed from the initial rendering she presented to the final design that was executed.

A major kitchen renovation feels like giving your house a heart transplant and is almost as stressful. It’s unavoidable mess and disruption for weeks. Rebecca and her team though always did their best to minimise this, while they got on with the job of executing our design. Nothing was too much trouble and they always managed to deliver the small incremental changes we came up with as the project came together.

What we got at the end of all of this was a highly original, very ‘us’ design that looked almost exactly like the original renderings Rebecca presented. Our kitchen is unique to us. It doesn’t look like anything you’ll find in a kitchen catalogue or something that even a bespoke kitchen designer is likely to come up with. It reflects our character, what we like to do, how we entertain and how we want to live in the heart of our home. We love it.

Rebecca was an absolute delight to work with. She spent time getting to know myself and my husband and familiarized herself with our home prior to creating two brilliant bathroom designs for us to chose from. We live in a very old, listed, thatched property and needed a company that had experience of some of the particular challenges uneven floors, and walls and very old plumbing present. Rebecca was always on hand to talk to throughout the project and visited our 'site' regularly with updates. Her excellent communication was so reassuring for us and while she managed the whole installation she would always ensure we were happy throughout. She has a fantastic eye for detail and created a beautifully designed bathroom; the end result was all that we had hoped for. Throughout the project her team, were always considerate; they worked to very high standards and kept the disruption to our household to an absolute minimum. We would wholeheartedly recommend Coulby Interiors and would definitely use them again in the future.

We cannot rate Rebecca and her team highly enough for their work. Rebecca designed a modern extension, kitchen and dining space completely changing a small cramped kitchen and old conservatory into our dream space.

Everything was exactly as you would want it to be for project management and build from day one. As complete newbies to any sort of renovation Rebecca made the whole process smooth, stress-free and most of all successful. She managed to take our vague and unformed notions of what we would like "blue, with an island" and turn it into a space that perfectly matches our needs and style. She listened to all our requests and helped work them into the final design. and more importantly let us know where things would not work and suggested far more practical alternatives.

Her team were all great - highly competent, friendly, and knowledgeable, and as we were still living in house as they removed the kitchen and knocked down exterior walls, made sure every effort was taken for us to have a comfortable and livable space in the meantime.

We asked Rebecca for the impossible - not only to completely transform our en-suite, but we wanted more space AND more storage.
We had a nondescript bathroom, a vanity unit that held next to nothing, and when the shower started leaking, it was the final straw.
Enter Rebecca, her ideas and vision, and her ability to translate our initially inarticulate requirements and definite dislikes, into beautiful design options, maximising both form and function.
What we wanted, and now have, is a haven; a calm, sophisticated, light and open space, with a spa like feeling, but which also works exceptionally hard, with masses of discreet storage keeping everything to hand but out of sight. It looks fabulous.

We started with a dark awkward small kitchen & didn’t know quite where to start, enter Rebecca.
Time was spent exploring what we wanted from the area including the impact of the surrounding rooms, even the garden views from the windows. The budget was set and throughout the whole process options to change up or down on the plan where offered. This was essential in our case as the house tried everything to disrupt the project, with ancient electrics, rotting floor joists and missing foundations. Rebecca’s team rose to all of this with professionalism, solutions, options and smiles even though it mean more dirt and unexpected work. The team were a pleasure to accommodate, they were clean, tidy and needed nothing from us. Communication was regular with decisions & choices ‘drip fed’ so we never felt overwhelmed and ideas could evolve as the project developed.
We now have a kitchen I am very happy to show off and spend time in rather than the ‘cupboard’ I closed the door on.
Engaging Rebecca and her team was the best decision we made.
We now want to win the lottery so we can give her the keys to the whole house!

With Rebecca Coulby, one gets _exactly_ what construction project design and management _should_ be like (in an ideal world), but one would never imagine could prove to be a reality.

We were delighted with the thoroughness and attention to detail right from the initial consultation and design through to the completion, and diligent and timely following up on the snagging issues inherent in any project.

Anyone who has undertaken significant building work knows the trepidation involved: worries about financial risk, unknown problems with the property, availability of parts and labour. Also the problem of communicating what one wants to achieve.

With Rebecca in charge of the project, all of these worries simply evaporate. It has been an absolute joy working with her. We looked forward to our meetings. She gets right to the heart of what the customer wants to achieve, and then leaves no stone unturned in making sure that the finished result most closely resembles exactly that. She handles all of the complexities of project management, alleviating this considerable burden; we always had, in Rebecca, a responsive, highly intelligent and sensitive single point of contact throughout the project.

She was also able to fill in the gaps, giving us options that surprised and delighted us, when we weren’t sure exactly what we wanted, but were able only to outline the general approach and philosophy underlying the renovation.

During the project, which was on a period property (where we expected there to be problems uncovered), as each issue materialised, she gave us practical options, sensible recommendations, and carefully costed solutions. It took all of the stress and anxiety out of the whole project.

The final bill for the renovation work very closely matched the initial estimate she gave us, and all of the extras were reasonably costed, with options presented balancing cost and desired outcome.

We are delighted with both the process followed, and also the final outcome. I can’t recommend Rebecca highly enough. She has skill and insight on what is required, encyclopaedic product knowledge, and has assembled a truly remarkable team of excellent construction workers.

We started to coordinate professionals at the design stage of our project but were ultimately very pleased to have stood these down and used Coulby Interiors. We invited Rebecca to give an initial consultation, and straight away she called out what neither our architect nor kitchen designer had fronted up to – that fitting in a centre island would be too tight a fit in the space we were working to. Add in a storage solution that we hadn’t even thought of, and the value of using a top-level interior designer was already clear.

When it came to the build, we temporarily moved out given the extensive works taking place. Our house just happened to reach the peak of stripping out, walls removed, doorways knocked through, etc, on the day when later that evening the Prime Minister announced the first Covid-19 lockdown. I will always remember the feeling of wandering around our house that evening!

But of course, we need not have worried. Rebecca and her team made sure that the project moved forward while ensuring that they were working safely, dealing with shortages of materials while never compromising on quality, and managing the works given the temporary closure of the kitchen supplier due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

It was therefore impressive that the project was only delayed by around two months, which made such a difference given that our second baby was due just two more months later! We were kept well informed of what was happening, which included reduced numbers of Rebecca’s team on site at any one time to maintain social distancing and reduce touch points. Although we mostly kept physically away due to the pandemic, we always found Rebecca and her team to be contactable, polite and very considerate, and they always discussed important decisions in sufficient detail to allow us to make an informed choice.

We have now been back in for just over a year without major issue and we’re so much happier with both the look and practicality of our entire downstairs area, and its positive impact on the life of our growing family. It has absolutely transformed a property that was only 12 years old into a thoroughly quality and modern living, cooking and dining space. Thank you!

Rebecca and her team have been an absolute Godsend. I'd been struggling to coordinate contractors to complete works and communicate with each other. Then a pandemic hit, delaying everything and contractors disappearing. Discovered Coulby Interiors, contacted Rebecca and the response was immediate. Explained my situation and budget. Rebecca promptly assessed the house for a full refurbishment. It was my family home untouched for 40 years. Her team then commenced works on a fixed date and completed on time. Rebecca's vision completely changed the look, feel and flow of the house beyond my wildest dreams. She made me fall in love with the house again and made superb adaptations for my elderly mother. That's only the tip of the iceberg! We are extremely pleased with our kitchen refurbishment by Coulby Interiors. Rebecca designed a beautiful and practical kitchen that is working very well for us. Her project management was excellent from start to finish, we felt we were in safe and reliable hands. Our project started at the beginning of June 2020, while still experiencing restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. She was not only having to protect us, but also her team. There were some issues with supplies but somehow she overcame all this and our kitchen was finished practically on time. Faced with the prospect of long-term home working and therefore in need of a loft conversion, we did not hesitate to call Rebecca, after she and her team had done such a brilliant job with our kitchen renovation a few years ago. Completing a dormer loft conversion over winter and during the pandemic was guaranteed to be stressful but the dedication and hard work of Rebecca, Thomas, Jeff and the team, made it as painless as possible. Rebecca’s talent for design, maximising every millimetre and building a space that works perfectly in every way, was key to the success of the project and we are delighted with the final result. We contacted Rebecca about a full-house renovation and how best to break the work down into more manageable chunks. Our initial consultations were fantastic, creative and in-depth, with Rebecca reviewing the whole house, our preferences, priorities, tastes and needs.

She produced amazing designs for our first chunk of work, to the living room and kitchen, covering almost the whole ground floor. Her ideas transformed both the rooms, making an awkward living/dining room feel like one lovely big living room, and making the kitchen/diner contain all the practical storage and space we needed. The designs completely fit our modern/modernist/minimalist/nordic style and we were extremely excited to get the work done.

We moved out for a good proportion of the work and felt completely in safe hands, well looked after and happy to just answer questions as needed. There was some unexpected work (lead pipes) and an appalling sub-floor in the kitchen. Where possible Rebecca always gave us choices about what we could leave, and what had to be done, and we were not surprised by these things cropping up in an older property anyway. At all times Rebecca has been an amazing communicator, keeping us informed of all the details, explaining everything, getting confirmation, never assuming an answer to a question, and really listening carefully. The whole team do not settle for, or push for the easy options when you're in favour of doing something a bit more complex. Everyone had an amazing attitude and the focus was very much on making sure we were happy with the work.

The quality of the work itself was outstanding. I feel like I don't trust anyone else to touch the house now! Everything is high quality, solidly built and beautifully done. As we both work from home, we're here all the time and it makes a huge difference to our quality of life. We can't wait to get the next round of work done and massive thanks to Rebecca, Lloyd and the team. We won't be using anyone other than Coulby Interiors to do future work. THANK YOU!

We have worked with Coulby Interiors on several projects in our 500+ year old timber framed thatch cottage including an attic conversion and cloakroom, pantry, and laundry renovation. Rebecca’s creativity in design and the entire team’s attention to detail is beyond comparison; transforming difficult spaces into beautiful, usable, spaces - fresh, but sympathetic, to the old bones of the house. As with all renovations of very old houses, projects throw up unique challenges along the way - planning permissions, electrical and plumbing complications, wonky walls, etc. - and the Coulby Interior team works within those challenges and sometimes makes a feature of them. They are very flexible and innovative. Our latest project, completed during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, would have stymied most contractors, but Rebecca and the team created a Covid-secure process, isolating the site and managing the people on location at any given time. She also recognised, very early, that a prolonged lock-down could impact availability of materials and pre-ordered everything which kept our project on time and on budget. Having renovated many houses around the world, we have never met a team that is so pleasant, professional, and precise. For each new project, we only look to Coulby Interiors to complete it.

Rebecca was exactly what we were looking for. We undertook a significant renovation of a large holiday home property in Suffolk. We're based in London so it wasn't going to be possible for us to do much of the project. Rebecca was fantastic from beginning to end. Her ideas for the aesthetics were great, she listened to and incorporated our feedback, and was supportive when we wanted to make a few tweaks.

But her project management was the real highlight for us. She gave us regular updates. The project kept to its timelines, despite some issues along the way. She was extremely responsive over email whenever we had questions or concerns. And even after the project was essentially finished, she remained in touch for the few snags we had, as well as for a few fall-out issues a couple of months later.

We lived overseas at the time so needed a reputable company to project manage our bathroom renovation. Our tenants were a family with young children so needed a functioning bathroom quickly.
The refurbishment was completed efficiently in less than the projected time. The allocated team were respectful, clean and tidy.

Rebecca did a lovely job renovating our home. It was a substantial project but everything went according to plan - not many people are able to project manage that well. The work was completed to a high standard and Rebecca achieved exactly the look we wanted for the house.

Rebecca and her team performed nothing short of a miracle with our Grade 2 listed bathroom renovation. She took our existing bathroom under a pitched roof and adjoining bedroom and transformed them into one absolutely stunning and highly practical space. Her team were polite, friendly and highly skilled, talking us through the whole process from start to finish; nothing was too much trouble for them. We were very pleased with the service that we had from Coulby Interiors. Rebecca designed us a light and airy new kitchen, taking into account our suggestions, and then turning them into something very personal and different. Given that the work also included completely re-modelling and refitting a separate toilet and a toilet / shower room, as well as the utility and pantry, the time scale was very reasonable. On the odd occasion we had a query it was dealt with immediately and in a really reassuring fashion - the communication offered by you and Thomas was a key part of that. So thank you, and you were absolutely right, the place we all hang out is around our lovely oak peninsula!

Coulby Interiors completely re-did our guest bathroom. Rebecca was thorough in her design work and patient as we made up our minds about tiles, fittings etc. and her team on site were superb. Having redesigned and refitted a kitchen ourselves previously, we thought we had a good idea of what we wanted. But Rebecca saw things that we didn't see, and we were delighted with her design. Living abroad, we were having difficulties finding a company who would take on our entire flat renovation project. Having one person overseeing the complete project, including design work, ensured all aspects of the project were completed with the brief in mind, and costs were monitored closely across the board. We are delighted with our new kitchen diner and lounge. Rebecca's designs have completely transformed our lounge into a bright and open living space that feels a world away from its previous state. This was the third time we have used Rebecca and her team to transform a room in our grade 2 listed thatched cottage and, once again, we couldn't have been more delighted with the result.

The Design: From first to last it was a collaborative process. Having decided upon the budget, design themes were progressively developed using computer aided graphics together with a wide selection of sample materials and colours brought to our home. Rebecca is an extremely talented designer; her innate skills and unerring ability to picture the possibilities led us to a kitchen that is stylish, practical and unique and, importantly, price-wise kept within the estimate.

The Build: Having lived in numerous houses over the years and had experience of a wide range of 'workmen', we challenge anyone to find a better team than this - each one a conscientious professional, polite, friendly, flexible, knowledgeable and incredibly hard working.

We were recommended to Coulby Interiors by a friend of ours as we were considering updating and improving our main guest bathroom in our farmhouse. Rebecca’s calm and friendly manner put us at ease straight away and nothing was too much trouble for her, despite us changing our minds on a couple of things during the project. From the initial visit to the excellent graphics and presentation of ideas Rebecca was extremely professional and it was obvious that she had put a lot of thought into everything. It was such a joy to be able to leave all the organisation to someone else! We cannot speak highly enough of the team who carried out the work. They were the tidiest builders we have ever met and their standard of workmanship was first class. We are delighted with our new bathroom and would not hesitate to recommend Coulby Interiors to anyone in the future. A big thank you to Rebecca, Thomas and the team.

We wanted a fairly simple kitchen not too dissimilar from the existing layout, but more practical for my wife who suffers from back and knee problems. Rebecca Coulby seemed to grasp what was required and suggested some minor changes to resolve the problems, while making more of a feature of an ancient stained glass door and some display shelves that were to be retained. We were quoted 5-6 weeks from stripping out, through re plastering of walls and ceiling, laying a new floor, fitting out, and final decorations. It actually took 4½ weeks despite unexpected additional work being needed to correct defective electrics and plumbing. We opted for a brushed stainless steel sink and drainer. Budget wise, Rebecca quoted us an exact figure and we were half expecting to have to pay a supplement at the end to cover the unexpected works encountered, but no extra payment was required. As for the end result, as a result of the slight re positioning of key items the room appears twice the size, it is also lighter, better heated, and more practical - importantly for a kitchen, it has now successfully passed the Christmas dinner test!

Having recently retired my husband and I needed a whole house renovation. Rebecca designed, and her team installed, a new main bathroom, en-suite, living room/dining room, a new kitchen and utility room (including new downstairs toilet) and decorated 2 bedrooms, landing and hallway. Rebecca’s team, led by her site foreman were brilliant, very professional and nothing was too much trouble. As we were living in our property throughout, it was managed with at least disruption to ourselves as possible over the 10-week timescale. We cannot recommend Rebecca and her team highly enough. From initial discussion, through design, installation and completion, Rebecca and her team were excellent. We were able to discuss all of our ideas with Rebecca before committing to the project and once it started she kept us informed of progress every step of the way. The construction team was really professional and friendly and kept disruption to a minimum throughout. We now have a fine new en-suite shower room, created from scratch, which is larger than we had though possible. It also looks really stylish.

We are delighted with the wet room. With both of us having full time jobs it has been great not to have the worry of all the logistics – it has taken all the stress out of the project and made it fun.

I contacted Rebecca Coulby Interiors to design my kitchen after receiving a very disappointing and impersonal level of service from a larger kitchen retailer. I wanted someone who would listen to what I really wanted as my existing kitchen was far too small for all the catering I do regularly for my large family.
I wanted to knock down a wall between the kitchen and dining room to create a larger open-plan kitchen and eating area. My main concern was to make it bright and light.

Rebecca organised everything including all the build, electrical, plumbing and installation work, and the design and supply of the kitchen and made the process as simple as possible. Rebecca provided me with a personal service and one which I wouldn’t have got anywhere else. She was able to offer advice on everything and provided me with real design solutions for example; my kitchen needed enough appliances such as two ovens, and enough storage and seating to suit the frequent catering for family and friends and designed the kitchen with this in mind. Rebecca advised suitable flooring and worktops that looked great, worked within my budget, and modern but low maintenance, and a bright and modern colour scheme.
Rebecca was then on hand the entire time throughout the process to discuss any queries I had and provide reassurance when needed.

We live in a modern, terraced house that had a small downstairs kitchen, cloakroom and living room. Our family was growing and we wanted to explore making the space open plan.

We recently hired Rebecca to redesign our kitchen and dining room. Rebecca provided a fantastic service from start to finish and we are so happy with the final results. Having a complete kitchen redesign and decoration of hall and lounge 3 weeks before Christmas may seem ambitious and a little crazy but Rebecca and her team made the whole project as stress free as possible.

We decided to update our new house’s interior alongside having a new baby and whilst moving across the country. We wanted our new home to look good when finished and therefore we went looking for an interior designer. We initially hired Rebecca to help us with the internal design of the kitchen but the engagement extended to project managing our entire build.

We didn’t find anyone who offered such a complete service. Our initial requirement was someone who could deliver a kitchen from a plan rather then existing room and support us with designs in other rooms.

Her designs were bespoke and simply stunning - introducing us to ideas that we would never, ever have considered (e.g hot pink mirrored tiles)!

Becky's project management of the whole removal and installation was extremely competent and professional making the whole experience completely stress free for us.

We are absolutely delighted with the service she provided and our finished en-suite.
