The Brief
Design a bedroom that maximises wardrobe and storage space. The room needs to feel a comfortable space with a super king-sized bed and needs to feel luxurious and unique.
About The Project
‘This is a traditional Victorian property and forms part of a total house renovation project that has taken place over a couple of years. At this point we had already completed our clients new kitchen and living space downstairs and I was keen to ensure the bedroom had a similar feel to the rest of the house and was equally as beautiful.
condition and the brick did not stretch across the length of the wall as we had hoped. I therefore effectively created this look using beautiful brick slips and light lime mortar. I designed a low stud wall with solid oak shelf for the bed and bedside tables to stand against and then had glass shelves made to measure either side of this chimney breast for decorative items and plants. Across the entire front I designed a bespoke pelmet that could conceal led mood lighting to gently light up the brick work, right down through the glass shelves in the evening.
doors compliment the dark blue velvet curtains and bed. A mid-century dressing table and mirror and lighting tie in well with the other rooms in the house. Overall this bedroom has an understated, elegant quality to it whilst at the same time providing far better storage solutions and a more comfortable and inviting place to sleep.’
